THE BRIGHT FINISH GUIDE

Getting ready for an exterior cleaning visit

A little preparation makes a visit more straightforward. Start by agreeing the work area and any specific arrangements with your cleaner.

Clear the agreed work area

Move vehicles, toys, small plant pots and loose furniture where practical. Tell us about heavy items that cannot easily be moved rather than trying to shift them yourself. Agree in advance what will remain in place.

Explain access before the day

Mention locked gates, shared paths, steps and parking restrictions. For commercial premises, include delivery times, customer entrances and access procedures. Discuss a suitable time and any arrangements required.

Point out existing issues

Loose slabs, crumbling joints, damaged coatings and previous repairs are useful to know about. Mention sealers, earlier treatments and surface care instructions. Cleaning does not repair a damaged surface, and condition can affect the suitable approach.

Discuss water and drainage

Confirm water supply requirements with us. Tell us where water collects and about known drainage problems. Keep the access route free of loose items and mention any obstacles.

Plan around people and pets

Keep children and pets away from the work area during cleaning. Close nearby windows and doors if advised for the agreed job. We will explain any specific arrangements and when the area can be used again.

Allow for conditions and deadlines

Weather, drying time and the surface may affect the plan. Mention photography, viewings or events at the enquiry stage. If access or the condition changes after booking, send an update before the appointment.
